| Jalmeria says Kandi belt facing official neglect | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 12: Charging the successive state governments for pursuing neglectful policy towards hilly tehsils and kandi area of district Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) general secretary Hari Chand Jalmeria on Sunday said that areas are devoid of adequate road connectivity as well as other essential facilities of drinking water, health care, educational infrastructure and facilities for promotion of agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry. Addressing media persons here today, Jalmeria said that during his 12-day extensive tour of these areas he was informed that massive damage has been caused to the Kharif crops including maize, paddy, pulses etc due to wind and hail storm but it is unfortunate that Government so far has not paid any relief or compensation to the affected farmers. “In the Dhannu-Parole village, the farmers are terrorized by leopards which killed number of their sheep, goats, dogs, horses, despite reporting the administration take no action”, he said. Saying that 60 years of independence was virtually meaningless for them, Jalmeria further said that most of Lohai-Malhar Block of tehsil Billawar and the Bani Tehsil besides many other remote villages of Billawar and Basohli are without road connectivity and demanded construction of roads connecting Billawar with Bani and Basantgarh besides roads for others villages of theses areas. He also demanded High Schools for villages Lahri, Dhannu Parole, Kalna in Billawar and Katli in Hiranagar. He reiterated the demand for making Billawar, a district and Ramkot and Macchedi as tehsils. Besides the JKNPP leader demanded infrastructure to Degree College Billawar as college sans adequate infrastructure. |
