| Pharma sector upbeat over prospects | | Cross-LoC trade | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 13: The President Jammu Pharmaceutical Distributors Association, Rakesh Gupta and the President Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Ram Sahai welcomed the Trade delegation of Muzzafarbad, led by President Zulfiqar Abbasi to the city of temples here today. Rakesh Gupta welcomed the steps taken by the respective governments in allowing trade across LOC and that too, duty free. This step is considered to be of utmost importance as far as the pharmaceutical market is concerned, he added. The President JPDA said that much more has to be done at an individual level before such trade actually happens. The LOC trade can contribute as a major factor in lifting the psychological barriers because trade and economy matter more in human relations rather than politics. There is a human bond that needs to be strengthened further, he said adding that the profit for trade, of course, is the main concern of the trader and we are not immune to that. ‘This window of opportunity that has come our way needs to be widened with united effort’, he said and asked Zulfiqar Abbasi to take up the matter with their respective government. ‘He requested Ram Sahai and Zulfiqar Abbasi to come out with a joint statement that politics, region and religion have nothing to do with the trade. ‘We need to identify such forces that are trying to disrupt the LOC trade for political reasons and gains. These forces need to be isolated once and for all’, he observed. |
