| Intensive market checking in Samba | | | EARLY TIEMS REPORT
SAMBA, Oct 13: Two special squads have been constituted for market checking during the ensuing Diwali Festival.
Deputy Commissioner, Saurabh Bhagat, constituted a special squad separately for Samba and Vijaypur blocks headed by Dev Raj, Assistant Director, CAPD and V S Sambyal, Assistant Controller Legal Metrology respectively, for market checking so that consumers are not exploited by the unscrupulous traders.
The squad today inspected several traders in Samba, seven of whom were found violating the provisions of Essential Commodities Act and LPG Control order and booked under the Act. Twenty eight traders were warned to display the rate list at their establishments and refrain from using domestic gas cylinder at their shops in future.
In Vijaypur locality, 10 shopkeepers were fined and Rs.8700 was realized on spot from the erring traders under the Essential Commodities Act and J&K Weights and Measures Act 1997. |
