| Seva Dal wants lead role for Azad | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT DODA, Oct 15: Irked over the High command’s decision, nominating PCC chief Prof Saif-ud- Din Soz as chairman election committee, Congress Seva Dal District unit Doda has urged the AICC chief to reconsider its decision and instead appoint the former Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad as chairman. At a party convention held at the district headquarters here today, the participants expressed grave concern and dissatisfaction over the decision and impressed upon the party high command to reconsider its decision. The convention held under the chairmanship of its district president Bashir Ahmed Wani in one voice favoured the nomination of Azad as he was most experienced and acceptable to the people of the state as a whole. Reposing confidence on Azad, the speakers at the convention maintained that under his able guidance and leadership, the Congress party is sure to win maximum number of seats in the ensuing assembly elections. Congress Seva Dal has also demanded inclusion of Abdul Majeed Wani,G M Saroori, Abdul Gani Vakil and Mohammed Sharief Niaz in the campaign committee in the larger interests of the party and the state. |
