| NMC for pay panel implementation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 15: Demanding early implementation of 6th pay commission recommendations in favour of state Govt employees and pensioners, President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri today appealed to the Governor N.N Vohra to take decision on the issue at the earliest, so that confusion and uncertainty among the salaried class is removed once for all. Addressing a meeting of NMC activists, Shastri urged Vohra that besides, the Centre, several other states have already implemented the 6th pay panel report and there should be no reason that the same benefit is delayed to state employees and pensioners. He said prices of all essential commodities have gone upon considerably and this call for lessen immediate implementation of the report to less the economic hardships facing the salaried class. Shastri recalled that early also the 4th pay commission report was implemented in Jammu and Kashmir in 1992 during Governor’s rule and hoped that the sixth pay commission would also be implemented during Governor regime. Expressing concern over the plight of daily wagers, casual labour, consolidated, contractual employees. Shastri pleaded for regularization of their services besides increasing wages from Rs. 70 to Rs. 200 per day. Among others who also spoke on the occasion included Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, Sham and Lal Sharma. |
