| Naked wires of broken meters threat to people’s lives | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 15: A deputation of Pradesh Youth Congress led by General secretary Narinder Gupta met Chief Engineer, PDD and apprised him that the naked wires of broken electric meters on shops and houses have posed great threat to the lives of people specially the old and women. Gupta said that during long spell of power failure after the burnt of Gladni Power Station, the angry people have broken electronic meters on the closed shops and in residential areas also and naked wires are hanging in the street which is threat to the lives of the people. Youth Congress leader further said that the street lights remain off in Canal Road area of Jammu besides some areas like Muthi Barnai of Jammu city are facing power curtailment and demanded that this problem should also be looked into. The Chief Engineer gave patient hearing and said that he has already discussed the problem of broken meters with the Commissioner Secretary PDD and the decision in this regard would be taken soon and the street lights problem would be discussed with Mayor of JMC and decision in this regard would also be taken whether JMC or PDD have to look after the street lights. |
