10/16/2008 11:16:31 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 16: The Jammu CFA and distributors association thanked Jammu Business Coordination Committee appointed by it, for fructification of its efforts to convince and persuade the manufacturers and business houses in the country as well as the multinational companies to conduct trade with business houses in Kashmir through the commission, forwarding agents and distributors of Jammu as was the case before the recent boycott by some Kashmir traders.
As per press release a meeting of association held here today under the chairmanship of its president S Atar singh and attended by Anil Gupta secy., SK Sarin, S. Mandeep Singh, Sunil Jain, Sunil Aggarwal, Naresh Gupta, Om Gupta, Rajesh Bhatia and SC Chopra expressed satisfaction that status-quo as existed before trade relations between Jammu region and Kashmir valley got sore, as a result of some trade organizations of Kashmir giving call to the traders in Kashmir to sever ties with the distributors, commission and forwarding agents of Jammu and insisting on having direct trading with the companies in the country by passing distributors and commission agents in Jammu. It brought on record that this has become possible due to the sustained efforts and persuasions at all level by the Jammu business coordination committee, headed by Kulbushan Mohtra.
The association has also thanked the traders in Kashmir who have since given up the boycott of their counterparts in Jammu and are now conducting trade with national and multinational companies through the distributors and commission forwarding agents of Jammu, as had been the case earlier. It is a matter of satisfaction that cordial trade relations between Jammu and Kashmir have now been restored and this hoped that the bitterness for a brief period, will now be over, the associate remarked.
The association has also welcomed the statement of the leader of PoK traders delegation visiting Jammu and Kashmir, led by Zulfikar Abbasi, president AJKCCI that the trade organizations in PoK want to develop cordial and close relations with business and industry in Jammu region as well as in Kashmir valley.
Mohtra has appealed to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu and Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti to vigorously take up with the state governor and his administration for announcing package of compensation and relief to all sections of traders, for the loses suffered by them during the agitation.
