| Doctors for peace hold interactions | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 16: The doctors and medical student members of India Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) an affiliate of International Physicians for prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW) and recipient of Nobel Peace Prize in 1985 strongly appreciate the efforts of Padam Bhushan Balraj Puri for arranging the interaction between its members and doctors from Kashmir region to resole the situation that has developed in state of Jammu and Kashmir. The participants expressed concern that some vested interests have complicated the issues and the miscreants taken over the events, thus leading to loss of precious life and property. As per press release it was resolved that the medical professionals can contribute for confidence building measures and health initiatives by involving like minded doctors with common concern for health of community regardless of their political opinios or personal prejudices. This can be achieved by incremental step by step approach and their involvement in essential clinical and public health concerns in the region with an effective follow up. Organizing regional committees and workshops where doctors from both regions can participate and interact about essential clinical and public health concerns will further strengthen the bonds. |
