Court frames charges against Patwari, Ors

JAMMU, Oct 16: Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu, BL Bhat today framed corruption charges against then Patwari Halqa Chinore Jammu Mohammed Razaq and others.
Accused Patwari Mohd Razaq who was posted as Patwari Halqa Chinore Jammu in March, 2007 by abusing his official position as public servant demanded Rs 1000 from complainant Rattan Lal Koul as illegal gratification for entering mutation of land measuring 9 ½ Marlas situated at Lakshmi Puram Chinore in the name of his wife. On April 9, 2007 a trap was laid by the Vigilance Team and recovered bribe money of Rs 1000 paid by the complainant to co-accused Kaki Ram Chowkidar on the direction of Patwari which was recovered.
Special Judge Anticorruption, after considering the case of the VOJ, farmed charges against both the accused Patwari and Chowkidar as both misused official position and thereby obtained un-due pecuniary advantage for themselves which amounts to commission of offence u/s 161 RPC and 5(2) r/w 5(1) (d) PC Act 2006 and directed to try the accused persons for the commission of offences mentioned above.
