| Pandey reviews restoration work on Mubarak Mandi | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 16: Emphasizing upon the need for evolving logical mechanism based on ground realities for effective implementation of restoration and conservation programmes for historic Dogra monument, Mubarak Mandi complex, the Divisional Commissioner Sudhanshu Pandey has said that joint monitoring of all restoration and conservation works on the complex should be made a part of the implementation program so that this ancient heritage could be restored to its pristine glory and grandeur. He was speaking at a meeting held to review the progress on Mubarak Mandi restoration works. Pandey impressed upon the need for working out physical and financial magnitude of works so that every executing agency could have a clear vision about the needs and requirements of restoration programmes of the complex. The Divisional Commissioner asked the executing agencies to consult National Museum experts for technical expertise in the field. He directed them to identify the highly vulnerable buildings and start work on the same on priority basis. Pandey asked the concerned agencies to conduct a comparative study of deterioration and damage caused to the complex during the last 12 years so as to chalk out a better and improved strategy for conservation and restoration of the complex. The meeting was informed that the restoration work on High Court complex would be started on September 30 and is expected to be completed within two years. Besides, the drawing and estimation preparation for Darbar Hall would be completed within few months. |
