| Justice Kohli lectures at JU’s B-School | | Corporate legal scenario in India | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 17: Justice Permod Kohli, Judge Punjab and Haryana High Court today delivered a lecture on the theme “Corporate Legal Scenario in India” at The Business School, University of Jammu. The lecture cum interaction session was attended by the Faculty, Research Scholars and the MBA Students of The Business School and the Kathua Campus, University of Jammu. Justice Kohli in his address discussed about the changing Global Corporate Scenario and the emerging importance and linkage of the legal, political and social framework with the dynamics and success of a business enterprise. He further discussed in detail the various Indian legal acts that have the direct bearing on the functioning of the Companies. Discussing emerging trends in corporate mergers and acquisitions, he said that mergers help corporates to pool their resources, integrate financial capabilities, managerial competencies and thereby enable the firms to operate in a more effective manner. Motivating the students, he remarked, that the road to success is a super highway which is founded by visionaries and courageous people who muster the strength to tread on those tracks.
Earlier Prof. Neelu Rohmetra presented the formal welcome address and highlighted the importance of understanding the legal framework for the future business leaders. Prof. V K Kapoor, former Director, Law School, University of Jammu in his special remarks appreciated the initiatives taken by The Business School and said that legal framework is the backbone of the Corporate Sector. Prof. Ashok Aima in his presidential remarks said that the spectrum and dynamics of the economic sector are not restricted but have extended their roots Pan Globe. Prof. B C Sharma on behalf of The Business School presented a memento to Justice Permod Kohli.
Prof. Keshav Sharma, Director, Business School acknowledging the continual and perpetual support of Prof. Amitabh Mattoo, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu and said that Business School is on the journey to emerge as a leading Management Institute of the Country. He presented the formal vote of thanks. Anil Gupta conducted the proceedings of the function. The interaction session was organized by the Placement Cell of The Business School.
