| JSM urges Governor to rectify regional bias | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 17: Strongly condemning the discriminatory and differential treatment being meted out to the people of Jammu region the JSM (P has urged the Governor to rectify the wrongs done in order to prove his well quoted statement of giving equal and just treatment to all three regions without any prejudice and preferential treatment to anyone. In a joint statement Prof. Virender Gupta, President, Divender Singh Jamwal, General Secretary, Chandra Uday Sharma, Press Secretary and Mahesh Sharma, Chairman Professional and Intellectual Cell Jammu State Morcha (P) have strongly opposed the dul policy being adopted in respect of Jammu and Kashmir divisions by using different yardsticks making Kashmir valley always beneficiary and depriving Jammu Province of just and fair deal. . The Morcha leaders in this regard has cited the case of PHE daily wagers and said that while these workers are paid Rs.500-700 per month in Jammu their counterparts in Kashmir were being paid Rs.2100 per month. The irony of the fact is that the Government is extremely insensitive to the plight of these daily wagers. The daily wagers are on strike for the last so many days demanding parity with their counterparts in the Valley. Neither the previous elected Azad Government with majority support from Jammu nor the Governor’s administration have paid any heed to these daily wagers. |
