| Khoda wraps up Ladakh visit | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Oct 17: Expressing satisfaction over the law and order situation in the Ladakh region, the Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda, who is currently on a tour to the region, has stressed on saving the youth from crimes and other social evils. He called for professional policing to control crimes and other social evils. Addressing officers meeting at District Headquarter, Kargil today, Khoda called for modern communication system for better deliverance and professional policing for maintenance of law and order. He said close rapport between police and public is imperative in this direction. He said while taking action against laws breakers, even precaution should be made to avoid inconvenience or harassment to general public. The main issues which came for discussion in the meeting included matters relating to professional policing, communication system, crime rate, maintenance of office records; time bound follow-up of cases, implementation of action plans, utilization of funds, disposal of pending investigation cases, I.T. facilities and administrative matters. DGP asked for expeditious action for clearing the pending cases in police stations. He said the construction works presently under execution in the region should be monitored and completed within the time bound period. Reviewing the traffic and security band-bust on Srinagar - Ladakh National Highway, the Khoda said necessary logistic support should always be available at various points from Sonamarg to Kargil and onwards. He asked the concerned traffic agencies to maintain better coordination so that people do not suffer during their travel on the highway. He also discussed the traffic system of other routes of the region. Earlier, the DGP inaugurated Police Public School at Buroo Kargil at an impressive function in which the Chief Executive Councilor of Ladakh Hill Development Council, Kargil, all members of Council, prominent citizens, civil and police officers participated. |
