Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 3: General Category Peoples' Front - Jammu Kashmir held its meeting under the chairmanship of Raj Kumar Banathia and discussed in details the socio-economic and political problems being confronted by the people. Addressing the meeting Prof. Yash Paul Sanson, President of the Front demanded restoration of democratically elected government in JK UT in present L.G. administration has failed to provide basic amenities like power and water supply to the people. Moreover, L.G. Administration could not be an alternative to popular government. He demanded that delimitation Commission should invite all political parties and social groups of Jammu province to understand the demands and aspirations of Jammu people. Sanson strongly condemned recent hike of LPG price alongwith the prices of the other commodities. The soaring prices of essential items has shattered the budget of a middle class family, inflation rate had peaked all time high and broken all records and Modi Govt. is not uttering a single word over soaring prices. In India, today everyone even a beggar is paying GST when he buys a packet of biscuit or a plastic shoes. What is the priority of government it is not clear. Front demanded that all kinds of subsides, monetary relief be stopped to lessen the burden of Taxes imposed on people.
Som Nath Sharma, Gen. Secretary alleged that all successive government like present Modi Government continued with their divisive appeasement policies towards minorities and SCs/STs and as a result, General Category People (Swarn Castes) were always at the receiving end. Modi Government has been marginalizing General Category People (Unreserved) by lowering their social, economic and political rights besides continuing illegal and partial restriction on the fair application of basic fundamental rights. He demanded that fundamental rights be made complete and full rights. The constitutional and legal provisions of "Equal Rights and Equal laws for all" be made. Deepak Khajuria, V.K. Sharma, Bhushan Pargal. Dr. Bansi Lal, Surinder Sharma who expressed their views, expressed unhappiness and regret for taking unreserved category people for granted.
