Major strike on bovines smuggling; 20 arrested, 72 bovines rescued

Reasi, July 3: Continuing drive against bovines smuggling in district Reasi, teams of district police Reasi in special nakas and raids arrested 20 bovine smugglers while rescuing 72 bovines from their possession.
Team of police station Arnas apprehended two bovine smugglers Jumma s/oGhulam Hussain & Mohd Ashraf s/o Noor Hussain r/o Chakal Salta Thakrakote from Arnas area and rescued 2 animals from their possession. In this regard Case FIR no 62/2021 U/S 188 IPC is registered and investigation set in.
Whereas in another attempt of bovines smuggling, team of Police Station Chassana intercepted three Tata mobile vehicles bearing registration numbers JK20B-1137, JK20A-1732 & JK20A-3852 loaded with bovine animals, arrested 5 bovine smugglers and rescued 15 bovines from Sungri area of Chassana.
Accused arrested were Shabir s/o Ali Mohd r/o Dhami, Rafeeq s/o Ibrahim r/o Channa, Javaid s/o Abdul Aziz r/o Angralla, Abdul Majeed s/o Ghulam Nabi r/o Channa, Mohd Abrar s/o Abdul Rasheed r/o Bhagga and FIR no 24/2021 U/S 188 IPC & 11 PC Act stands registered at Police Station Chassana and investigation started.
In another instance of bovines smuggling, team of police station Mahore established a surprise naka at Thandapani intercepted and arrested two bovine smugglers Mohd Hanief s/o Mohd Farooq r/o Dhansal and Fayaz Ahmed s/o Zahid r/o Thuroo while on way to Kulgam and rescued 4 bovines from his possession. On this case Fir no 41/2021 U/S 188/IPC has been registered and investigation set in.
Another bovines smuggling bid foiled in Arnas area, by team of Police Station Arnas by apprehending two bovine smugglers Fareed Ahmed S/O Bashir Ahmed R/O Lamsora & Mohd Iqbal S/O Bashir Ahmed R/O Dharoti and rescued 4 numbers of bovines from his possession from Santhal area of Arnas. In this regard case FIR no. 65/21 U/S 188 IPC 11 PC Act registered at police station Arnas.
In a separate incident team of police station Arnas intercepted 5 bovines smugglers namely Mohd Shafi S/O Mian R/O Dhansal, Arfat Ahmed S/O Sian R/O Dhansal, Farooq S/O Ghulam Qadir R/O Gool, Mohd Yousaf S/O Gafoor R/O Gool and Mohd Isaq S/O Mohd Shafi R/O Bathoi and rescued 7 bovines while they were on way Gool Ramban. In this regards FIR no 66/2021 U/S 188 IPC stands registered at Police Station Arnas.
FIR 42/2021 U/S 188 IPC stands registered at Police Station Mahore regarding rescue of 15 bovines from the possession of two bovine smugglers namely Mohd Mushtaq S/O Mohd Yousaf & Mohd Farooq S/O Mohd Afzal R/O Neoch Mahore arrested by team of Police post Dewal.
Team of Police post Shajroo established naka at Ramakund intercepted and arrested one Mohd Yousaf S/O Shamasdin R/O Chillad and rescued 10 bovines from his possession while he way on way to Kulgam district of Kashmir valley. FIR no 43/2021 U/S 188 IPC stands registered at Police Station Mahore in this regards and investigation started.
Team of Police Station Chassana on a specific information chased and arrested one bovine smugglar Saddam Hussain S/O Mohd Younas R/O Babotal Chassana from Tuli area and rescued 15 numbers of bovines from his possession while transporting towards Kashmir Valley. In this regards FIR no 26/2021 U/S 188 IPC stands registered at Police Station Chassana and investigation started.
On preliminary stage of investigation, it has been found that bovines were carried from different areas & collected at single point & were to be smuggled across valley through mountain-passes on foot only.
Team Reasi under the Command of Shailender Singh SSP Reasi established zero tolerance towards bovines smuggling and in the current season of nomads movement, 262 cattle are rescued in 32 case FIR's registered against bovines smuggling in which 54 accused has been arrested since April 2021.
