| Justice Kakroo to be Acting CJ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 17: Justice Nisar Ahmed Kakroo is likely to take over as Acting Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court on October 20. The present Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Justice Manmohan Sarin, who had taken over in the month of August is retiring on October 20. Justice Nisar Ahmad Kakru born in 1949 was enrolled as a Pleader in August 1975, Vakil in 1979 and as an Advocate in 1982. He practiced in the District and Sessions Courts and other Courts in Baramulla from August 1975 to 1983. He was appointed as Public Prosecutor - Sessions Court, Baramulla in 1978. From 1984 he practiced in District Courts and the Jammu and Kashmir High Court in Civil, Criminal, Constitutional, Service, Labour, Company matters etc. From Feb. 1988 to Jan. 1990 he was appointed as Chief Govt. Advocate (Additional Advocate General). There after was appointed as Advocate General of the State from Nov. 1996 to Nov. 1997. Appointed as an Additional Judge of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court for a period of two years on 26-11-1997 and as permanent Judge on 20-12-1999. |
