Srinagar, Sep 12: A local Congress leader had a narrow escape today when an IED, planted by militants, exploded, injuring two civilIans, soon after his motorcade passed the area in Kulgam area of Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir.
The explosion took place soon after the motorcade of local Congress leader and district president Inayatullah Rather passed the area at Sherpora at around 1.00 PM, official sources said.
Although Rather and his colleagues escaped unhurt, two pedestrians sustained injuries in the blast.
No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. |
