Jammu Police smash break-in rackets
Burglaries, thefts worth Rs 55 lakhs solved, 13 notorious thieves held

JAMMU, Oct 19: Jammu Police has made remarkable achievements in unearthing various notorious gangs of burglars in Jammu City and have recovered number of vehicles, stolen goods, cash and jewellery worth Lacs of rupees from them in the past few days. Police Post Narwal falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Trikuta Nagar has exposed a major network of burglars operating in Jammu for the last several years. The members of the gang apprehended so far have admitted to be involved in more than 10 burglaries committed in Janipura, Bag-e-Bahu, Channi Himmat, Christian Colony, City Chowk, Talab Tillo, Roop Nagar and various other areas of Jammu City. Some of the members of this gang have already served 5-7 years Jail terms and have been working in close co-ordination with each other. The members of the gang are: Ravi Gupta @ Bulli S/O Tej Ram R/O EP-2 Rajinder Bazar, Jammu, Rajesh Kumar @ Raju S/O Sham Lal R/O New Plots Jammu, Arun Honda alias Rinku S/O Yashpal Honda R/O Rajiv Nagar, Bagh-e-Bahu, Jammu., Vicky Gorkha S/O Lal Bahadur R/O Gorkha Nagar, Bagh-e-Bahu, Jammu, Vicky Gill S/O David Gill R/O Christian Colony, Jammu, Xavier Gill S/O Late Younis Gill R/O Christian Colony, Jammu and Vinay Teja S/O Late Kala Masih R/O Christian Colony, Jammu.
In another major breakthrough, Police Post Bhatindi falling under the jurisdiction of PS Trikuta Nagar, one Manzoor Ahmad S/O Mohd. Alam R/O Bhatindi reported that some unknown thieves have stolen household items etc. from his house on 07-10-2008. During the course of investigation in Case FIR NO:189/08 U/Sec. 457/380, RPC, Police could recover not only the stolen property and accused in this case, but was able to unearth the whole gang of thieves involved in 4 theft cases across the city. The following are the members of the gang: Atta-ullah Zahid S/O Mohd. Azam R/O Rajouri, At Present Upper Bhatindi, Bahar Din S/O Abdul Aziz Bali R/O Mahore, At Present Zubairabad, Bhatindi, Amir Muhammad S/O Khurshid Ali R/O Bhatindi, Rashid Ahmad @ Bani S/O Hussain Mohd. R/O Bhatindi, Latif Ahmad alis Baffi S/O Bhag Ali R/O Upper Bhatindi and Mir Alam S/O Shah Mohd. R/O Nawabad, Bhatindi
In another case Gangyal Police on specific information recovered one stolen Scorpio bearing fake Registration No: JK03A-3857 from the possession of one Mohd. Amin S/O Abdul Aziz Teli R/O Ganjipura Pulwama. In this connection Case FIR No: 113/08 Under Sections 467/468/411 RPC has been registered. During the course of investigation the registration number was found to be fake and was actually of a motor cycle. The vehicle (Scorpio) has been stolen from Pune Maharashtra. More arrests of the persons involved in the racket and recovery of stolen vehicles is expected in the coming days. From the possession of these gangs, following items have been recovered so far. One Pistol (Czechoslovakia Made), 6 Pistol Live Cartridges, One Mahindra scorpio, 2 Motor Cycles (Black Passion), 300 Grams (1070 Gms more to be recovered) Golden Jewellery, 27 Silver Coins , two Video Cameras, one Digital Camera (Sony), on eCamera (Canon), 2 Refrigerators, 4 Television Sets, 4 Computers, 2 Printer & Scanner, 5 Mobile Sets, 3 DVD Players, 3 Voltage Stabilizer, one Gas Cylinder, 2 Gas Stove, 2 Electric Heater , one Pedestal Fans (Usha), one Handy Gas, 2 Big Knives, 7 Wrist watches , one Wall Clock (LG), 4 Imported Blanket, 13 Bedding, 10 Household Items, Foreign Currency -US $ 207, 6000 Korean Won and Indian Currency Rs. 3,347
It is pertinent to mention here that Jammu Police has achieved major successes in unravelling various burglary cases during last 2 months. Only last month Police arrested 10 persons, recovered property worth 20 Lacs and busted a notorious gang involved in inter state theft and fabrication of trucks and other vehicles. SSP Jammu Manohar Singh has recommended suitable reward for the Police Party which has affected the recoveries.
