SSP Jammu holds Police-Public meet

JAMMU, Oct 19: A Police Public meeting was today held by SSP Jammu S.Manohar Singh in Beli Charana in which the respectable of Migrant Camps participated in large numbers. He thanked the people for coming forward to work towards greater Police Public co-operation. In a simple but impressive gathering organized by the local public, a galaxy of speakers including Koushal Sharma ,Manzoor Ahmed , Dara Singh Ram Lal and Paresh Sharma appreciated the high tradition of communal amity maintained in their area during past and vowed to uphold the ethos of secularism and mutual camaraderie in future also.As most of the dwellers in the area are victims of terrorism, SSP assured them of all possible help. The speakers highlighted various issues which included providing basic facilities of water and electricity to the residents of this area, upgradation of the school, providing Medicare facilites and ambulance, compensation to the fire victims of Mazdoor Basti, construction of play ground, to prevent the misuse of land by the land grabbers, permission to repair the damaged houses and huts as restrictions have been imposed by the authorities, establishment of a Police Post, regular patrolling, curbing the menace of eve teasing and drug trafficking and keeping a strict surveillance on the movement of anti social elements .
SSP lauded the role of public and appealed them to give proper and timely feedback about the working of Police. He emphasised that there is an urgent need to bridge the gap between the expectations of Public and performance of Police.
SSP assured the public that Police would perform its duties in a polite but firm manner and at the same time it would be ensured that the integrity is maintained at all costs. SSP warned the public to remain extra vigilant as the enemy from across the border is hell bent to disturb the peace of Jammu. He requested the participants to be eyes and ears of Police and report any suspicious movement or appearance of a stranger in their localities, so that the response is immediate the effective .SP City (South) Jammu Mubassir Latifi,SDPO South Sukhdev Raj and SHO PS Satwari Inspecto Sunil Singh Jasrotia were also present on the occasion.
