| JSM demands relief to farmers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 19: Jammu Stat Morcha’s former MLA from Bishnah, Ashwani Sharma today appealed to state government to immediately sanction relief to farmers for 100 per cent damage caused to paddy crops in majority of rural areas in Jammu district. As per a release, addressing a public meeting in Bishnah town Sharma asked the government to immediately order a survey of damage caused to standing paddy crops due to a recent hailstorm and sanction relief for the farmers. In his address, the former MLA highlighted construction of roads, bridges, culverts and widening of roads in Bishnah assembly segment during his tenure of five and a half years. Work was on Bari Brahmana and Bishnah-Arnia via Slair roads while Bandrali and Rial bridges over Aik nullah have been complete besides Saidgarh and Bumnal bridges. He also voiced concern over discrimination with Jammu region in all spheres. He regretted the government has failed to set up Delimitation Commission and address the problems of refugees. No employment package has been sanction for Jammu, release added. |
