| JSM-P claims to contest all 37 seats in Jammu region | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 19: Welcoming the announcement of Election Commission of holding elections to the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in mid November, the Jammu State Morcha (P), in a meeting held under the chairmanship of its President, Prof. Virender Gupta, declared that the Morcha will contest in all the 37 seats in Jammu region. The candidates for the seats which have not been announced as yet will be made to public soon, the JSM president said and appealed all the people of Jammu region to take care in exercising their right of franchise and get only those candidates elected who will propound the cause of the people of the region.
The Morcha, however, expressed its concern over the slow pace in issuing Voter Identity Cards and apprehended that the genuine voters would be deprived of exercising their franchise.
Among those present in the meeting were Abdul Rouf Ganai, H.B. Khajuria, Capt Anil Gour, Digvijay Singh, Divender Singh Jamwal, Chandra Uday Sharma, Surat Singh Sumaria and Surinder Sharma. |
