Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 11: Enthusiastic Theatre & Mime actor, director Dev Fauzdar (Dinesh) featured today at Natrang's National Theatre Talk Show, 'Young Voices of Theatre' at the Facebook page of Natrang Jammu where he shared his inspirational thoughts with the global audience.
Born and brought up in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, Dev Fauzdar, a young theatre artist is a recipient of Junior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India for mime. He started his career in theatre with Asmita Theatre Group in Delhi and later joined Aakar Kala Sangam for a long time. He has to his credit a number of theatre workshops including; a residential theatre workshop organized by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi and an Indian Mime Theatre Workshop by Padamshri Niranjan Goswami and later became active in mime and theatre direction.
In a candid conversation with Natrang's senior artist Neeraj Kant, Dev narrated his journey of theatre which started incidentally while he was doing graduation. For him, theatre is not only acting but also a thread of emotional connection, social responsibilities and discipline in social life. Moreover, theatre connects us with nature, people and society. Dev believes that theatre is a vast subject which has many branches. He considers himself fortunate that he has learnt different facets of theatre from different experts and expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards all of them especially towards Arvind Gaur, Suresh Bhardwaj and Niranjan Goswami who have shaped his artistic personality. He passionately invokes collaboration of the theatre practitioners of different parts of the country so that they may come forward for each other's support. He aspires for a revolution in the society where theatre people, who possess reason and wisdom are heard by the system. He also discussed some relevant metaphysical and spiritual concepts which help him to create enlightening workshops which emotionally rejuvenate the participants. Ever-optimistic and dedicated theatre practitioner, Dev concluded his talk with the message of compassion and humanity.
