JAMMU, July 11: Govt. Degree College Thannamandi, Department of Geography, organized an extension lecture as the part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahatsav on the world population day 2021 under the patronage of Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Javaid Ahmed Qazi.
Dr. Muhammad Sarfaraz Asghar, Department of Geography, University of Jammu, Jammu was the invited speaker and presented his talk on "Human Environmental Dimensions of Population Pressure". He fully explained the effective measures for controlling population growth rate so that resources could not be affected by teeming population of the globe.
Earlier the programme was inaugurated by Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Javaid Ahmed Qazi. He congratulated the Department of Geography for organizing the extension lecturer on world population day.
Dr. Khalid Rayaz, Head, Department of Geography presented the welcome address and introduced the resource person.
Almost all the faculty members and good numbers of students attended the programme. The prominent who were present on the occasion include Dr. Nahim Un Nisa, HoD Arabic, Prof. Madasser Majeed HoD Islamic Studies, Dr. Shokit Ali HoD Urdu, Prof. Ajaz Nazir HoD Physics, Prof. Muhammad Shoket HoD Education, Dr. Ibrahim Lone PTI Mr. Waqar Ahmed Librarian, Prof. Naveen Sharma HoD Environment Sciences, Prof. Fatima Qazi HoD Political Science, Dr. Sarfaraz Mirza, Dr. Wahid Qazi, several students and others.
