| Jagti villagers stage protest against government | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 12: The residents of village Jagti today staged protest demonstration against the unilateral decision of the govt/IIM Jammu's authorities for closure of Tanda -Simblelehar link road for the local population of village Jagti.
"It is the only road link having 350 metres stretch which falls in between the area acquired for IIM which has been used by the locals since centuries and many generations. We have been apprising the respective levels of administration at the very initial stage of acquisition of adjoining forest area but the concerned authorities did not bother about the said matter and instead took an unilateral decision for closure of the said road link", they said.
The alternative road which is designated for the locals via National Highway is lengthy and quite unsafe having a dangerous crossing which is nothing but a death trap where already a number of accidents have taken place causing death of young people of the village, they said.
The said decision of the govt agencies is not acceptable and justified. Moreover the demand of the local population is very much justified and genuine where the govt needs to review their decision in the said matter.
It is very shocking to note that how our representations to worthy DC Jammu dt-26-12-2017 and worthy DIV COM Jammu dt-05-04-2018 and later the report of the Naib Tehsildar Nagrota NTN/12 DT. 23-04-2018 submitted to the higher authority were not taken into consideration for resolving the said case. "Apart from this, said matter was also brought into the notice of the camp officer of 1st Back to Village Rashpal Singh then ADC Jammu who assured us to take up the said matter with the concerned agencies", they said.
"This matter can only be resolved by the intervention of Lieutenant Governor J&K as all the concerned agencies have failed to resolved the said issue", he said. |
