Early Times Report

Jammu, July 12: Senior Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader Rajeev Charak demanded strict action against the guilty property dealers, officers of revenue department, officers of forest department and revenue minister, who were indulged in massive encroachment of state and Forest lands.
Speaking on destruction by flash floods in Kailka Colony, Ward No.48 of Bahu Fort, Jammu, where flood water badly damaged 10 residential houses.
BJP leader Kunwar Rajeev Chadak, who came to take stock of the situation, was told by the local people that this drain was built on May 8, 2007 at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore, but the foundation was not taken out while making this drain. Due to which landslides have been taking place for years due to which the damage has been done today. Talking to people, Rajiv Charak said that some people were raising slogans against the administration and our party and that those shouting these slogans are responsible for all this damage because during Congress tenure this drain was built and after taking a hefty commission, the substandard material was used as a result of which the local people are facing the brunt.
Charak said that these people were MLAs and Revenue Ministers of this area for 12 years, during that time all the potholes in Gandhinagar assembly were converted into small drains, drains, ravines, ponds, Tawi river, forest lands, pastures, government There was a lot of plundering of land and encroachment was vigorous, as a result of which today 200 meters of ravines have been converted into 10 feet drains, due to which the lives of people living on the banks of these drains are in danger. Appealing to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Charak said that there is a huge scam of encroachment on ravines, drains, ponds, government land and forest land, this scam is the biggest scam after Roshni scheme. Under the supervision of the then land mafia i.e. the then Revenue Minister, who gave protection to the encroachers and called them property dealers, all government lands and river drains have been encroached upon.
He said that after encroachment on government and non-government lands, lands belonging to many temples under Gandhinagar Vidhan Sabha have also been encroached upon.
