| SI fired for corruption | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 20: A Police Sub-Inspector was suspended for allegedly accepting a bribe to release a notorious criminal, sources here today said.
They said SI Rakesh Bamba, in-charge police post Chinore on city outskirts, was suspended by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu Manohar Singh following the complaints on the release of a criminal ‘Gub’, who was arrested along with a country made pistol last week from Chinore.
''The Sub-Inspector was suspended on the level of charges against him that he allegedly took Rs 20,000 as bribe to release the criminal,’’ sources told UNI.
The SSP however, ordered an inquiry and attached the SI to the District Police Line Jammu. |
