Kishtwar admin fixes rates of chicken, mutton, other commodities

KISHTWAR, July 15: District administration Kishtwar today fixed the rates of mutton, chicken, eggs and other commodities in view of Eid-ul-Adha and to control the unreasonable rise in their prices. The rates were fixed by the District Committee at its meeting chaired by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Akhter Hussain Qazi.
Assistant Director FCS & CA, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer , Tehsildar, TSO, Food Safety Officer, Naib Tehsildars, Sanitary Inspector along with concerned officers and mutton, chicken and milk products seller/traders attended the meeting.
Threadbare discussions were held on verification of rates, assessment of transportation charges, transit weight loss and profit margins. The committee approved the rate of Mutton including Mutton live Rs 300 per kg, Mutton Safi Rs. 400 per kg, Mutton with 150 GM ojri Rs 380 per Kg, Ojri Rs 220 per kg, Head/Siri Rs. 150 per kg, Legs/Kharooda Rs. 170 per kg. The rates fixed for Broiler chicken dressed ready to cook without skin was fixed at Rs 240 per kg, Broiler chicken dressed ready for cook with skin Rs 230 per kg, Broiler chicken live less than 1.5 kg including dressing Rs 158 per kg, Broiler chicken live above 1.5 kg including dressing Rs 150 per kg, Eggs per dozen Rs 78 . The rate of milk was fixed at Rs. 45/litre, Curd at Rs. 50/kg, cheese at Rs. 260/kg. The ACR directed the concerned Tehsildar, EO Municipality, officers of FCS&CA, Food Safety and Legal Metrology Department to enforce the rates in letter and spirit in the jurisdiction of district Kishtwar. He further asked them to ask the owners to maintain hygiene in the retail outlets and sell commodities by using an electronic weighing system.
