| Haj arrangements reviewed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Oct 20: Reviewing the arrangements for ensuing Haj pilgrimage at a meeting here today the Advisor to Governor H. H. Tyabji has directed the concerned agencies for making adequate arrangements of accommodation for the pilgrims of Jammu and other far off areas. He said that in case of any exigency like road blockade and bad weather, these pilgrims be accommodated properly by JKTDC before their departure to the holy pilgrimage. He also stressed for making available electricity facilities and generator sets at the places of stay and at Haj House Srinagar. Chairman State Haj Committee A.G. Shahbaz, Principal Secretary Revenue L. K. Jha, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Masood Samoon, Executive Officer State Haj Committee Abdul Rashid Mir, Deputy Commissioners of Srinagar and Budgam districts, Director Health Kashmir, Director Doordarshan, Chief Engineers Power, PHE, UEED, officials from Airport Authority of India, Securities Agencies, besides other officers attended the meeting. The meeting discussed threadbare the arrangements being made for ensuring hassle free Haj pilgrimage this year. It was decided that adequate transport facilities would be provided to the pilgrims for carrying them to the Haj House and the Airport. For the purpose a good number of SRTC buses would be made available. The meeting also decided that medical facilities would be provided both at Haj House and Srinagar Airport by the Health Department. The pilgrims would be given proper vaccination against meningitis before their departure. |
