| Panthers want polls in three phases | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 21: The activists of Delhi Pradesh National Panther Party (DPNPP) submitted a memorandum to the Election Commission of India demanding that the proposed assembly elections in J&K state be conducted free and fair. The memorandum signed by the chairman JKNPP chief Prof. Bhim Singh also demanded that the prolonged electoral process of two month is not a good precedent, nor it discourage the enemies of democracy, it will be better to hold election in three phases and added the snow-bound and far flung areas be brought under first phase. The party handout further said, that, so far a large number of voters have not received photo identity cards and as such all electoral officers be directed to distribute photo identity cards to the remaining voters. Workers also demanded that the Governor be directed to remove all those officials and officers from key post, beside they should not be allowed to perform election duty. |
