| JU to have "Energy Institute" | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 21: If all goes well, the University of Jammu, which has attained new heights under the dynamic leadership of its Vice Chancellor Professor Amitabh Mattoo, would soon have”Energy Institute" on the pattern of Energy and Geo-science Institute, University of Utah. The University of Jammu has already chalked out the plan of the proposed institute in co-operation with Eni Corporate University Milan, EGI, University of Utah and MPRG, University College London. Reassuring all possible support by the University of Jammu in this direction, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Amitabh Mattoo, who met the Italian delegation representing Eni and Italian Embassy in New Delhi in his office chamber here today, said the University of Jammu is honoured to be associated with Eni in the innovative program of collaboration between industry and academia and between India and Italy, which reflects our shared vision of social and corporate responsibility towards humanity across the nations of the world. He assured all possible support to establish the Institute of Energy in Jammu University and thanked Eni and UCL establishment for their continued support to the University in promoting its geo-science education and training in the University of Jammu. The delegation included Ugo Astuto, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Italy, New Delhi, Franco Conticini, GM Eni-India, Stefano Santi, Eni-India, Commercial, Negotiations & Governmental Affairs Manager; Dr. Jonathan Craig, Caryl Craig and Beth Geen-Craig. Besides, Dr. Bindra Thusu, Maghreb Petroleum Research Group at University College London, Prof. G. M. Bhat, Prof. M. A. Malik of the Department of Geology and Dr. Shakil Romshoo of the Department of Geology and Geophysics, University of Kashmir and Suri were also present. |
