| PDP sees hidden agenda in NC actions | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Oct 21: Taking a dig at National Conference leadership, PDP today said that it (NC) had always betrayed the people of Jammu and Kashmir. While addressing a day long convention of party workers of Tral , here at party head quarters , senior PDP leaders Rafi Ahmed Mir, Mohammed Khalil Bandh, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain and Bashir Assad, lambasted at the NC leadership for its dual policies and anti Kashmir stances it resorted to during the recent political up heaved in the state . PDP leaders castigated that NC Patron Dr Farooq Abdullah and President Omer Abdullah were the mischief mongers. PDP had conveyed to the Indian leadership in clear and unambiguous terms that there was public anger in Kashmir and that the government of India should initiate certain Kashmir Centric confidence building measures after the cross LOC trade so that peoples’ faith in the democratic institutions could be rebuild but as usual NC hurriedly endorsed the official view regarding the conduct of early polls in the state. PDP leaders said that people in Kashmir need an imaginative and bold leadership and Mufti Mohammed Sayeed is the best bet. For PDP what matters is the Kashmir and Kashmir cause while as NC was an extension of Sang Parivar which proved during the recent crises by recognizing themselves with the propaganda unleashed by BJP against the Kashmiris. ‘NC was instrumental in diluting the Kashmir Cause by toeing the official line on Kashmir and Dr Farooq for more than once described the Kashmiris as pampered’. PDP leaders said that they will not allow NC leadership to fulfill its hidden anti Kashmiri agenda and will fight for the legitimate rights of the Kashmiri masses through all democratic means. |
