| Conference on stats begins | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 21: A 4-day international conference on “New trends in Statistics and optimization” organized by the Department of Statistics, Kashmir University was inaugurated by Director General, Economics and Statistics G A Qureshi.
Speaking on the occasion, Qureshi highlighted the importance of statistics in all disciplines of science and applied field of socio-economic planning, policy formulation and good governance. He stressed upon the statisticians working in the universities and in other fields to come up to the expectations of the government for providing timely and accurate data required for planning and policy making.
Meanwhile, 5th Economic Census report prepared by Directorate of Economics and Statistics was released by Riayz Punjabi, VC Kashmir University. |
