DC Kishtwar inspects development works in Machail, Paddar areas during 3 day tour

KISHTWAR, July 26: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar Ashok Sharma inspected various developmental works and interacted with the public delegation besides participated in the annual Pooja (Hawan) at Machail Mata temple during three day tour to far flung areas of Machail Sub-Division. He was accompanied by ADDC Sham Lal, SDM Paddar Varunjeet Singh Charak besides several other concerned officers and field functionaries. During his visit, the DC inspected the developmental scenario of the far off village Haloti of tehsil Machail and took first hand appraisal of the developmental works and existing infrastructure. During the inspection, he also met with the public delegations at Haloti, Hangoo Machail, Chashoti and Gulabgarh villages and listened to grievances of people.
The Locals of Hangoo and Haloti demanded construction of an irrigation canal, tap water supply to each and every household, telecommunications facility, electricity and tile work of holy Gompa at Haloti. The PHE and PDD departments were asked to take concrete steps for prompt redress of grievances of people, besides stress to expedite the pace of work by resuming the double shifts in the area to ensure the completion of these projects ahead of winter season. Meanwhile, the DC along with SDM Paddar also participated in the first Pooja (Hawan) as per the past practices here at the Machail Mata Temple Paddar. The Pooja was held with due adherence to COVID-19 appropriate behaviour. Special prayers were held for peace, harmony and eradication of COVID-19 pandemic from the whole world. It is pertinent to mention that the annual Shri Machail Mata Yatra scheduled to start from 25th July 2021 has been cancelled in view of COVID-19 pandemic. En-route, the DC Kishtwar also met with people of Chashoti and Gulab Garh area and listened to their issues.
