| Tributes paid to 1947 martyrs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 22: Sharnarthi Morcha of BJP today organized a rally at Rani Bagh Chowk (Near Airport) here to commemorate the sacrifices of martyrs of 1947 and to pay homage to them.
The rally was presided over by Jugal Kishore Sharma (Ex-MLA) while JMC Mayor Kavinder Gupta was chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta and Jugal Kishore Sharma said that it was a matter shame that the refugees of 1947 had not been yet given a fair deal by the successive government of Congress, NC and PDP for their proper settlement. While the refugees of 1947, who fled to rest of the country 1947, have since been well settled by the respective governments there, but those, who settled in J&K, are yet to get their due. Sharnarthi Morcha Convenor Ashok Kumar Khajuria in his address said that time has come for the people of Jammu region to close their ranks and vote unitedly for BJP, the party which has always been fighting for Jammu and nationalistic people of the state.
BJP State Secretary Yudhvir Sethi, Mandal Presidents Ch. Vikram Randhawa and Vinay Gupta, JMC corporator Shub Chander Verma also addressed the rally. |
