| Hassan Mir’s JKDP gets poll stamp | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 22: The Election Commission of India (EC) has registered the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party Nationalist JKDP (N) headed by former minister Ghulam Hassan Mir. The party headed by Mir was floated on May 7, 2008 with an aim to strive for socio-economic development of the state. As per a release close on the heels of elections in Jammu and Kashmir which are slated to be held in seven phases, the registration of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party Nationalist has given a boost to the morale of party leaders who are planning to contest the elections. According to the party chief Ghulam Hassan Mir, the JKDP(N) will be contesting assembly elections and names of the candidates will be finalized in next few days. The party plans to contest elections both in Jammu as well as Kashmir. The senior party leaders held a meeting at party’s Jammu office and hailed the decision of the Election Commission of India, the release added. |
