| UPA responsible for financial crisis in the country: Rajnath | | | AGENCIES KOPARGAON, Oct 22: BJP national president Rajnath Singh charged the UPA government for its wrong economic policies which led to the collapse of country's economic-system. "For the first time in the country's history economic-downfall is created for which the Manmohan Singh-led government is solely responsible for the situation due to its mismanagement," Singh said. Talking to media after visiting the famous Sai Baba temple at Shirdi near here today, Singh said that it would be bad for the country if such a situation continued. "I sensed something wrong with the banking sector as some UPA leaders had taken possession of the nationalised banks, forcing Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to make statements on the safety of these banks," the BJP leader said. He said the loan-waiver policy for farmers announced by the government was BJP's brainchild, but the UPA was taking credit for it. The BJP President accused that the UPA government was not looking into problems related to subsidy and remunerative prices to the farmers forcing them to run towards metro-cities. It is a shame that almost 5,000 persons have committed suicide in a progressive state like Maharashtra due to the anti-agricultural policies of both the Centre and Staet government, he said. Singh expressed hope that BJP-led NDA would win the forthcoming elections in the five states scheduled to take place in November-December. Issues related to serial blasts, increasing terrorism, farmers suicides, Ram janmabhoomi temple, unemployment would be raised by the party in the assembly as well as during the Lok Sabha polls, he added. |
