| No compromise on quality, no delay in completion, no pilferage of funds- Charak to Engineers | | | SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 12 –Minister for Roads & Buildings Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak has underscored the need for timely completion of all under execution development projects. He directed the officers and engineers to redouble their efforts and work on war footing to accomplish infrastructural development in the state and achieve the targets in full. He said Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has issued clear instruction to complete the developmental projects and utilize 80 percent funds by November 2006. Such executive divisions which do not complete the targets well in time would be given punishment and in-efficiency recorded in service records, he cautioned. Adding engineers who complete the fixed targets with-in prescribed time would get appreciation.
He was presiding over a high level meeting here Monday, convened to review the pace of progress of various developmental projects being executed in Kashmir province under R&B sector.
Minister of State for R&B Mr. Mohammad Khalil Bandh, Commissioner Secretary R&B Mr. Atul Daloo, Manging Director JKPCC Mr. Iftikhar Ahmad, Chief Engineer R&B Mr. Nazir Ahmad, Chief Engineer Housing and Urban Development Mr. Mohammad Shafi, Managing Director JK Cements Main Mustaq Ahmad, Director Stores and Chief Engineer Procurement Mr. B.B. Gupta, Joint Director Planning Mr. Manohar Khajuria, Superintending Engineer’s and Executive Engineer’s of all the districts of Kashmir province attended the meeting.
Minister reviewed district wise pace of progress on various under execution projects and directed the concerned authorities to ensure creating of standard infrastructure.
Mr. Charak said that it is the endeavour of Chief Minister to get sufficient funds released from the central government for the socio-economic transformation of the people of the state and “we have to utilize every penny judiciously and to the best benefit of people. We all should cooperate and work with devotion, dedication and honesty to full fill the dream of Kushal Jammu & Kashmir envisioned by Chief Minister”, he maintained.
The Minister advised the officers to keep close support with each other for speedy development. He directed that the month-wise requisition for cement and other necessary material be forwarded to the Director Procurement and Chief Engineer R&B for supply so that construction works are not affected and completed with-in prescribed time frame.
Mr. Charak said the government is determined to provide a clean, response and good administration to people and for the purpose various steps have been taken. He said any official found un-punctual, careless or corrupt would not be spared however honest and best performing functionaries would be encouraged at all levels.
Mr. Charak also sought the cooperation of the people for building Jammu & Kashmir as a model state in the country and called upon them to monitor the construction works in their areas. He said that if they find any hanky panky, use of substandard material and misappropriation of funds on the developmental projects they should inform him or concerned Additional District Developmental Commissioners who have been assigned the job of monitoring the execution of developmental projects. |
