| 124104 voters in Kishtwar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KISHTWAR, Oct 23: District Election Officer, Mr. Sudershan Sharma, has enjoined upon all district tehsil and block level officers to ensure strict implementation of Model Code of Conduct in their respective jurisdictions and cautioned them that no laxity shall be tolerated in this regard. He also directed the officers not to leave their headquarters without seeking prior permission that too only in case of extraordinary official emergency during the election period and also not to entertain any kind of leave of their subordinate staff. He was addressing a meeting of district officers convened to take stock of the election preparedness and related arrangements made so far in this behalf. He informed the meeting that the Electronic Voting Machines have been issued to the Resource persons at Tehsil and Block level and the training process to officials and voters is currently a pace in the district. The District Election Officer further informed the meeting that there are 124104 eligible voters in the district having two assembly segments of 51-Kishtwar and 52-Inderwal and the process of updating electoral roll with additional/deletion is nearing completion with identification of sensitive, hypersensitive and normal polling stations, their inspection and sanitation process is on in both the constituencies. Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner, Mr. R A Zarger, Additional. Deputy. Commissioner, Mr. A.R Nathoo and A. D. Planning Kishtwar were present in the meeting. |
