| Timber worth Rs. two lakh seized | | | SARITA JAMWAL
UDHAMPUR, Oct 23: Timber worth rupees two lakhs was seized from a local saw mill near Omara Morh and the owner of the mill has been booked under Forest Act.
According to reports a team headed by DFO Udhampur Ajay Gupta raided a saw mill near Omara and seized fifty sleepers from there. The owner of the saw mill was arrest on spot and booked under the relevant provisions of the Forest Act.
Yesterday also the forest officials had seized 30 sleepers from a saw mill at Ronu Domail.
Cases have been registered against both the saw mill owners and further investigation was going on when last reports came in. |
