| JKDP announces its election committee | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 23: Former minister and President Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party Nationalist, DP(N) today announced an election committee which will decide the names of potential candidates for the forthcoming assembly elections in Jammu. A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the political affairs committee of Democratic Party, DP(N) which was chaired by Ghulam Hassan Mir. The Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of DP(N) constituted a seven member election committee and empowered it to decide the names of potential candidates which will be issued party mandate. This committee, according to Mir will cocentrtae on the names of candidates for Jammu division only. Kuldeep Wahi, senior vice president of the party has been nominated as Chairman of the seven-member election committee. Others members of the committee include S.Narinder Singh Raina, Zaffar Javed Ahmad Khan, Romesh Chander, Advocate Zulfikar Malik, Mohammad Ali Shaukin, Virinder Singh Chib. Earlier, Ghulam Hassan Mir was accorded a rousing reception on his arrival at the Jammu airport today. Party leaders and workers in large number had gathered at the airport to receive Ghulam Hassan Mir from where he was brought to the party office in a cavalcade. He asked party workers to work for the welfare of youth and ensure that fruits of development are reaped by every section of the society irrespective of cast, creed, region or religion. He also favoured tapping natural resources of the state to their full capacity. |
