JAMMU, Oct 24: The Jammu State Morcha (Progressive) has claimed that keeping in view the aspirations of the people, the leadership has decided to field only those candidates who have a clean image and have been serving the people for the last many years.
The Morcha today announced the first list of its candidates at a press conference here today. Prof Virender Gupta Morcha Chief will be seeking election from Jammu West, Capitan Anil Gour (Retd) from Gandhinagar, Balwinder Singh Jamwal from Nagrota, Digvijay Singh Jamwal was Vijaypur, S. Shiv Rattan Singh from Suchetgarh, Jatinder Bhat from R.S.Pura, Varinder Magotra from Bishnah, Jia Lal Bhagat from Chenani and Surat Singh Sumbaria from Ramnagar.
The Morcha has called upon the people of Jammu region to give JSM (P) their full support in the coming elections as it is the only party that understands the sentiments and emotions of Jammu region. JSM (P) respects the feelings and regional aspirations of people who are totally disillusioned with the existing political parties and set-up and are looking for a change. JSM (P) along with all its party workers has whole heartedly participated in the 62 days struggle launched by Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti to protect the honour and dignity of Jammu region.
The JSM promises to continue this struggle further to achieve justice for the people of Jammu region which is only possible by creating a separate Jammu State.
The Morcha said that it will be notifying the names of the candidates from other constituencies in the coming days.
The Morcha today received a shot in the arm when several leaders along with their supporters the party. They included Ravinder Singh, Ravi Kant Sharma, Pushap Singh Charak and Kamal Wadhera.
Prof Virender Gupta, Abdul Rouf Ganai, H.B. Khajuria,Capt Anil Gour, Digvijay Singh and Divender Singh Jamwal were also present at the press conference.
