| Polls no substitute to resolution: ANC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Oct 24: Jammu and Kashmir Awami National Conference (ANC) has said that elections are not a substitute to the resolution of Kashmir issue and are meant only for formation of a popular government. "No elections can be a substitute to the resolution of Kashmir issue. The formation of government is only for providing good governance," senior ANC leader Muzaffar Shah said, addressing party workers in Baramulla district yesterday. He said Kashmir issue "can only be resolved through tripartite negotiations without any blood shed". "With more than a hundred thousand youth dead and thousands languishing in jails, Kashmir issue cannot be ignored and must be resolved for the peace and development in the sub-continent," he said. Several Congress activists from Uri joined the party on the ocassion. |
