| Artists par excellence, as students display talent | | JU’s TALASH PRATIBHA KI | | MUNISH GUPTA JAMMU, Oct 24: With the growing popularity and impact of the reality shows students are really more and more attracted towards exhibiting their talents and Department of Student welfare University of Jammu is providing them the perfect platform in nurturing their talent. The young brigade of University of Jammu (JU) today exhibited brilliance of their dance aptitude on the stage of Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium during a talent hunt programme "Talash Pratibha Ki" organized by Department of Students Welfare (DSW). It needs to be mentioned that this programmed has been started only last year have gained the tremendous popularity and the participation of number of participants and audience in the testimony to the fact that the programme was already much popular in the campus. Colorfully attired, students from various teaching departments of University presented dances on popular Hindi numbers , Medleys, Folk from Punjab , Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh etc. displayed their creative dancing pursuits on various sound tracks and kept the jam-packed auditorium enthralled coupled with thunderous applause from audience throughout. But one thing to be noted in today’s programe was that it was totally dominated by the female contestants. The edition of Talash Pratibha Ki showed the fact that female contestants overpowered the talent of the male counterparts. It was also a surprising fact that even not a single male contestant has short listed for this contest. Earlier Chairman Campus Cultural committee, Prof. Kuldeep Sharma who was the chief guest on the occasion underlined the need for participation in extra co-curricular activities for all round development of the society. While taking to our correspondent Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Dean Student Welfare stated that there is need to nurture the talent of the budding artists and Department of Student Welfare is doing its best to provide platform to the talented students to exhibit their talent. On answering about the space capacity of the auditorium, he stated that the Departments is trying to make it more spacious in the coming years to ensure maximum participation of both the artists and the audience. While talking to one of the participant Rupali whose performance was totally outstanding and well applauded by the audience said that the whole credit goes to the Department of Student welfare for exhibiting the talent of the students. She also added that it is difficult to get selected in some of the reality shows but she is happy that she ahs performed brilliantly here. Another participant Sujata told that she has been participating second time in this event and it’s really a great platform for the budding artrists. I am participating for the first time feeling nervous stated Shagun. She also said that now she is feeling confident by participating in the programme. She thanked the Department of Student welfare for providing platform to talented students. Those who performed solo dance items included Meenakshi , Dympica, Ganga, Jyoti, Shagun, Savita, Neha Antal , Bhanu Priya , Poonam Handa , Tanvi, Anshu, Anita Devi, Sujata, Ritu , Pallavi, Anju , Neha Tandon and Roopali. Asstt.Dean Cultural affairs , Vijay Atri apprised the students on the occasion and said that "Talash Pratibha Ki" is an endeavour to hunt the hidden talent of the students and the The programme was compeered by Rishi Kumar, Deepika Hans and Juhie Mohan while the event was coordinated by Sachin Bhagat, Neeraj Sharma, Tabish Param, Sapna , Amandeep and Shivani Sharma. Among others who were also present included, Prof. suman Jamwal, Co-chair person, campus cultural Committee, Dr. Madhulika, Capt S R Dubey (Security Officer), faculty members, research scholars and students. |
