EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 24: The CPI (M) are state secretary, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has expressed deep concern over the distress curtailment in power supply in the valley. In a statement issued here today Tarigami said that with the onset of winter the unscheduled power curtailment is causing great inconvenience to the consumers who have been forced to come on the streets.
He said that six to seven hours power curtailment daily was not justified after metering, adding that the consumers cannot be denied a basic amenity like power. He, however, appealed the people to make judicious use of power.
Tarigami said that government must take contingency measures to arrange required power supply from all available sources. He also sough central Government’s intervention for providing additional power from Northern Grid to the valley to meet the increasing requirements during winter.
