| Farmers stage protest against Power Department | | |  Early Times Report
KATHUA, Aug 11: Alleging callous attitude of PDD towards the hardships of farmers, a protest demonstration was organized in the premises of DC Office Complex under the banner of Rashtriya Kissan Sangathan. Later, the protesters met with DC Kathua Rahul Yadav and apprised him regarding the problems.
The protesters raising slogans castigated state regime as well as Power Department for not giving heed to their problem.
Leading the protest Ghanshyam Sharma stated that since independence the farmer fraternity is struggling hard to survive. However, Modi led government boasts of doubling the income but the ground reality is quite bitter. Raising step-motherly treatment issue with the farmers by PDD he alleged that the department had disconnected the power line to the fields of poor farmers. The paddy season is going on and the farmers are in strong need of irrigation but it seems that power department had no concern to needy. Ghanshyam Sharma demanding the power connection to be reinstalled, warned of intensifying the struggle if department fails to meet their demand in time. However, DC Kathua after listening to problem of farmers assured of taking viable step in time. |
