| Syed Bashir-ud-Din is new SHRC chief | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, Oct 24: In exercise of powers vested in him under sub-section (I) of section-4 of the Jammu and Kashmir Protection of Human Rights Act, 1997, the state Governor N N Vohra today appointed Justice (Retd) Syed Bashir-ud- Din as Chairperson of the State Human Rights Commission.
Meanwhile, the Committee for recommending Chairman and members of SHRC has recommended to the Governor appointment of another member to the Commission to raise the number of its members to three excluding the Chairman. |
