| Vishwa Ayurved Parishad J&K celebrates Charak Jayanti | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 12: Birthday of Mahrishi Charak, the father of Indigenous medical wisdom- Ayurveda, was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm among Ayurvedic fraternity all over India. This year, J&K unit of Vishva Ayurved Parishad celebrated a three-day long virtual programme to celebrate the eternal spirit of practice of Indian Medicine. Series of programmes were organized under the patronage of Dr Govind Ram Gupta and under guidance of Dr Jatinder Gupta, president of VAP- J&K. On the opening day of the celebration, Vaidya Sambhashan programme was organized where in two eminent speakers Prof (Dr) Hitesh Vyas from ITRA, Gujarat and Dr. Narsingh Tiwari from Uttrakhandgave detailed presentations on relevance of Charak Samhita in addressing the global health challenges and Charak Samhita and its role in Ayurvedic education and practice of medicine. On the second day various competitive activities like presentation competition and Charak Sootra poorti competitions were organized for students, medical officers and practitioners of Ayurveda. On the concluding day of Charakotsava Dean All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi, addressed the Ayurveda fraternity and urged the students to make best use of principles of health promotion, disease prevention and disease management. He also explained how the principles of Charaka Samhita were used for research, management and control of Covid-19 pandemic. The program was concluded with the Charak Shapath to adopt the principles of Acharya Charaka for providing self-less and rational health care to the patients. Vote of thanks was presented by co-patron of VAP-J&K Dr Sujata Sathu. The programme was attended by people from all walks of life including BAMS students, interns, Medical Officers, Office bearers of VAP-J&K and retired Ayurvedic veterans. The program was moderated by Dr. Arun Gupta and Dr Lotika Bharti. |
