| Students return from Kolkatta tour | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 25: An educational-cum-motivational tour for school children was undertaken by LKG Battalion under the aegis of Dah Division. The team comprising 35 boy students chosen from various schools falling under the area of responsibility of the Mendhar Brigade in the age group of 13-15 years returned here today. The highlight of the tour was the harmonious mix of students of various religious, cultures and economic background coming together and embarking on this educational rejoice. The aim of the tour was to develop awareness about our nation’s economic growth, development and cultural diversity amongst the young children. The tour has helped immensely in spreading the message of peace, and brotherhood for amongst these young children which is a positive step to promote harmony in the state. The children visited the Brila Planetarium, Science museum, Howrah Bridge, Mother Teresa Mission Charity and the Metro train in and around Calcutta. The children also had the opportunity to interact with GOC-in-C, Eastern Command at Kolkata and were presented with mementoes by the Army Commander personally. The flagging in ceremony of the education tour was organized at Mendhar today by Major General SKH Johnson, GOC Dah Division who interacted and shared the personal experiences of the children. |
