GCOE celebrates Independence day

Jammu, Aug 13: NSS unit of Government College of Education, (GCOE) along with the Red Ribbon Club organized series of events to mark 75th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism. Dr. Shubhra Jamwal (NSS Programme Officer) addressed the Chief Guests, Faculty and students with her inspirational words and efficiently conducted the Program along with NSS volunteers.
The number of participants was ensured strictly as per the SOP issued by the Government in view of COVID 19 pandemic.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Kulvinder Kour highlighted the significance of the day and recalled the freedom fighters. She stressed that freedom does not come easily and we are all indebted to our national heroes who made this country what it is today. She also said that as patriotic citizens, we have to put extra effort into performing our civic responsibilities.
Patriotic songs and dances marked the celebration of 75th Independence Day. The voices of the students filled with pride, patriotism and nationalism created magic in the atmosphere. Students presented a variety of programmes to exhibit their innate emotions towards the nation. The cleanliness drive was also held in the institution as part of Swachh Bharat Mission. The NSS volunteers participated in creating awareness among the public, informing them about the importance of cleanliness. The students took the initiative to clean the surroundings of the vicinity. They actively participated in all the activities by keeping their spirits high and exhibiting an enthusiastic attitude. To make it more special, the students donned tricolor dresses. The performances were judged by Prof. Kuldeep Raina(MAM college ), Prof. Satish K Sharma and Dr. Jyoti Parihar.
Prof. C.L.Shivgotra, Prof. Shapia Shameem Bhatti, Prof. Seema Kumari, and Prof. Sarita Dogra also graced the occasion and delivered speech on this auspicious occasion.
The volunteers who contributed to the successful organization of the event include Aakriti Kour, Ajay Bhau, Ambica Mishra, Diksha Devi, Hema Choudhary, Samreeti, Suvidha Sambyal Priya Chivalry, Sheikh, Mandeep, Aneesha and Sourav Sharma.
