Jammu, Aug 13: The Language Club of GCOE, Jammu organised pick a book contest through online mode. Overall 14 students presented books in English, Hindi, Dogri and Urdu language.
The judges of programme were Dr Radha Gautam, from Surat, Gujarat, Dr Sonia Khajuria, GCW Parade, Dr Tahira Shah of GCOE, Jammu. The guest of honour for today’s event was Dr. Rajinder Kour. In the inaugural session of programme, the Principal Dr Kulvinder Kour appreciated the efforts of students and language club committee for bringing together the different perspectives in different languages together through the books.
The judges also remarked that books gives us insight ,wisdom and practical guidance on everything .They also mentioned that everyone should develop a habit of reading books and also encourage others to do the same.
The programme was convened by Prof Shalini Rana, Prof Shapia Shameem, Prof Seema, Prof Sarita Dogra, Prof Vinay Lata, and Prof. Shubhra Jamwal. The technical support for the program was provided by Dr Mandeep Singh.
The programme was conducted by Ms Simran Kour and Priya of Integrated M.Ed- B.Ed semester 2. The winners of the program were Miss Ruchi of GDC Akhnoor(1st), Miss Charu Manhas, Miss Khushi (2nd), Rumeeta, Priya (3rd), Mukeet ,Nikita, Jyoti and Sakshi won the certificate of Appreciation. Sabya and Payal also helped in the management of the program. |
